Scottish Inventors and Engineers Stamp Competition
The great Scottish inventors and engineers who created the infrastructure and communications technology on which the modern world was built are amongst those celebrated in a new series of Royal Mail stamps. Issued on March 1st 2007, they are inspired by the 250th anniversary of the birth of Scottish engineering genius Thomas Telford, who built the roads, bridges, canals and docks that paved the way for the UK's industrial growth of the 19th century.
